Florida Certified Operator Certification
A Certified Operator (CO) is an individual who has passed a state examination administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) in one or more of four certification categories:
- General Household and Rodent Control (GHP)
- Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control (L&O)
- Termite and Other Wood-Destroying Organisms Control (WDO)
- Fumigation
A company’s pest control operations are the responsibility of the Certified Operator in Charge, and each business location is limited to the categories possessed by that individual.
Eligibility and Requirements
Under Section 482.132, Florida Statutes, applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirements established by FDACS to sit for the Certified Operator exam.
Per SPP901,
- All Managers are required to obtain their state’s certification in all categories as soon as they become eligible.
- All non-managerial team members are encouraged to pursue state certification during their tenure with Massey Services.
The Quality Assurance Department provides access to approved exam preparation classes and study materials.
