Florida Certified Operator Certification

A Certified Operator (CO) is an individual who has passed a state examination administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) in one or more of four certification categories:

A company’s pest control operations are the responsibility of the Certified Operator in Charge, and each business location is limited to the categories possessed by that individual.


Eligibility and Requirements

Under Section 482.132, Florida Statutes, applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirements established by FDACS to sit for the Certified Operator exam.

The Quality Assurance Department provides access to approved exam preparation classes and study materials.


Certification Process

FDACS conducts Certified Operator examinations periodically throughout the year.
Application requirements, scheduling information, and current exam locations are managed by the Licensing Department.

Renewal and Continuing Education

Certified Operator (CO) licenses must be renewed annually with FDACS. Renewal typically requires Continuing Education Units (CEUs), which can be obtained through Massey training events or approved online providers.
